Jatinangor, 8 November 2024 – Think Green 9.0, together with the FPIK Development Program 2024, has launched dedicated plastic waste bins across the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Universitas Padjadjaran. The initiative supports the creation of a cleaner and more sustainable campus environment.

By encouraging the separation of plastic waste and reducing single-use items, the program promotes responsible daily habits among students and staff. This effort helps reduce pollution and encourages the use of eco-friendly alternatives such as tumblers and reusable bags.

Proper waste management also contributes to broader environmental goals by minimizing emissions and protecting ecosystems. Preventing plastic leakage safeguards both marine and terrestrial biodiversity, ensuring that natural resources remain healthy for future generations.

As part of its ongoing environmental campaign they reported the results of plastic waste collection facilitated through dedicated bins at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Universitas Padjadjaran.

On Day 1, the collection reached 1–2 kilograms of plastic waste, while on Day 2, the bins successfully gathered an additional 2 kilograms. These results highlight the responsiveness of the academic community in utilizing the newly provided facilities and their growing awareness of proper waste management.

The initiative not only contributes to a cleaner and healthier campus but also reflects broader commitments to sustainability. By reducing unmanaged plastic waste, the program helps protect the environment, promote responsible consumption, and encourage long-term eco-friendly habits among students and staff.Through this collaboration, Think Green 9.0 and FPIK reaffirm their role as active contributors in addressing environmental challenges within the campus community.
