The lively atmosphere of the Garasi Para Artistik (GARPIT) event was felt by visitors in the Alfa X Park at Unpad on Monday, May 27th.

dJatinangor.com — The Garasi Para Artistik (GARPIT) event was held in Alfa X Park at Unpad on Monday (27/05). GARPIT serves as a platform for students of the Television and Film Study Program (TVF) at Universitas Padjadjaran to express their artistic works.

Fiore, the Project Officer (PO) of GARPIT from the TVF class of 2023, explained that GARPIT is a means for students to create and work according to their passion in the field of art.

“GARPIT, which stands for Garasi Para Artistik, is more of a space for TVF students to be creative and produce artistic works, especially in the field of art,” Fiore said to dJatinangor.com on Monday (27/05).

This event has developed year by year. Previously, it focused only on art exhibitions, but this year it included innovations such as live music performances, a tattoo stand, photobooth, and live drawing activities. In addition, there was a spin wheel game with various icons such as emoticons, signs, animals, and others. Winners would paint according to the choices they got. To support this, GARPIT also sold canvases for visitors who wanted to paint on-site.

GARPIT is held every two months. The same Project Officer will manage the next event.

“GARPIT is held every two months. I will manage the next one, but the third event is still tentative as there might be collaborations with other parties,” Fiore explained.

The preparation time for the event is approximately one month, mainly used for preparing props and sets.

Although organized by the TVF study program, this event is also open to the public. Students from outside the TVF program can attend.

Visitors expressed positive impressions of GARPIT. Among them was Kiroy, a Journalism student from Fikom Unpad, who expressed his enthusiasm.

“It’s cool… and a lot of people came; the displays were colorful and there were live drawing performances too,” Kiroy said to dJatinangor.com.

Similarly, Nana, an Anthropology student from the class of 2023, said that such events are rarely held at Unpad, providing an interesting experience for her.

“It’s fun, there were lots of things—not just bands performing, but also painting and tattoos. It’s really exciting because events like this are rare at Unpad,” she said.

With positive responses from visitors and participants, GARPIT has successfully become a venue that not only showcases artistic works but also fosters a gathering of diverse art expressions under one roof. Fiore and the team hope the event can keep growing and bring positive impacts to the art community at Unpad.

“It’s fun, cool, basically great,” concluded Nana.
