



Jatinangor – The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences successfully graduated 52 students who received the Indonesian Smart College Card (KIP-K) scholarship from the 2021 cohort in the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. This achievement demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing higher education access to students from economically disadvantaged families.
KIP-K Graduate Profile
Of the total 52 students who successfully graduated, they were distributed across three main study programs:
- Fisheries Study Program: 39 students
- Marine Sciences Study Program: 10 students
- Tropical Marine Fisheries Study Program: 3 students
All graduates successfully completed their studies on time with a 4-year study period (8 semesters), in accordance with the targets set in the KIP-K program.
Diverse Admission Pathways
These KIP-K graduates entered through various selection pathways:
- SNBP (National Selection Based on Achievement) – KIP-K: 12 students
- SNBT (National Selection Based on Test) – KIP-K: 12 students
- S1 UTBK Score (Science & Technology) – KIP-K: 19 students
- S1 SMUP Exam (Science & Technology) – KIP-K: 8 students
- S1 UTBK Score (Mixed) – KIP-K: 1 student
Diverse Regional Origins
The KIP-K graduate students come from various provinces across Indonesia, with the majority originating from:
- West Java: 35 students (70%)
- Central Java: 5 students (10%)
- DKI Jakarta: 3 students (6%)
- North Sumatra: 2 students (4%)
- Other provinces: 5 students (10%)
This regional diversity demonstrates equitable access to quality higher education for all Indonesian youth, not limited to specific regions only.
Family Economic Background
Data shows that the majority of KIP-K graduates come from families with lower-middle economic conditions:
- Parents’ income ranges from IDR 300,001 to IDR 4,000,000 per month
- Most parents work as farmers, laborers, traders, and entrepreneurs
- The majority of parents’ education level ranges from elementary school to senior high school
Gender Equality
In terms of gender composition, there is a fairly good balance:
- Female students: 34 people (68%)
- Male students: 16 people (32%)
This shows that the KIP-K program has successfully provided equal opportunities for female students to access higher education in the field of marine sciences and fisheries.
