Universitas Padjadjaran is among the public universities that provide housing (dormitories) for its students, commonly known as Bale Wilasa. There are several types, one of which is Bale Wilasa 1, intended for recipients of the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) scholarship-formerly known as Bidikmisi. After receiving their student registration number (NPM), KIP-K students can register to be selected for dorm residency. For recipients, Bale Wilasa 1 offers the option of staying for one year before housing allocation shifts to the next cohort. One major benefit of the KIP-K scholarship at Universitas Padjadjaran is access to dorm housing for one year at a much lower cost than standard boarding. Bale Wilasa 1 is for female students, while male recipients are places in Bale Wilasa 3. As an incoming student from another city, this will be the first opportunity to familiarize themselves with campus life and search for more permanent, strategic housing after my time in the dorm.
