Jatinangor, 28 July 2026 — Interest, in collaboration with the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) of Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) and National University of Singapore (NUS), held a free online webinar titled “Discover Sustainability Study Pathways with Scholarship” on Friday, 8 May 2026, from 19:00 to 20:00 WIB. The webinar consisted of several sessions, starting with a sharing session from the speaker, a presentation on the Double Degree program, a Q&A session, and closing remarks. The event was organized to promote the NUS Master of Science in Environmental Management (MEM) program as well as the Master’s Double Degree program between Unpad and the National University of Singapore (NUS), giving participants insight into studying at a world-class university, career prospects in sustainability and the energy transition, and available scholarship opportunities. The webinar was open to the public and drew enthusiastic participation from attendees across various regions of Indonesia and from diverse backgrounds, ranging from undergraduate students and fresh graduates to young professionals interested in sustainability issues, all of whom had registered in advance via the link bit.ly/NUSMEM.

The webinar opened with a sharing session by Mr. Ryan Ahmed, an NUS MEM alumnus, ADB Scholar awardee, and corporate sustainability professional at PLN Nusantara Power. In this session, Mr. Ryan Ahmed shared his personal experience studying at NUS, from adapting to an international academic environment, to the strategies and steps he took to secure the ADB Scholar award, and the challenges he faced throughout his studies. He also outlined career opportunities in sustainability and the energy transition available after completing the program, including his own career journey to becoming a corporate sustainability professional. This session offered participants a firsthand perspective and motivation for pursuing further studies abroad through scholarship pathways.
Following the sharing session, the event continued with a joint presentation on the Unpad x NUS Double Degree program by Fittrie Meyllianawaty Pratiwy, Ph.D. from FPIK Unpad and Miss Summer Chan from NUS. Both speakers explained in detail the dual-degree scheme between FPIK Unpad and NUS, including the academic pathway, study duration, admission requirements, and the academic and professional benefits available to students who join the program. The explanation also covered a comparison of the curricula between the two institutions and how students can make the most of a cross-border experience while pursuing the Double Degree program. The event proceeded with a Q&A segment, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and explore topics such as the application process, scholarship requirements, and tips for improving their chances of acceptance, before concluding with a closing session that summarized the key points of the webinar.
As an event centered on sustainability and education, the webinar also supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 (Quality Education) through expanding access to quality, internationally recognized higher education; SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) through discussions on the energy transition; SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 14 (Life Below Water) through the focus on environmental sustainability and the Master’s programs in Fisheries and Marine Conservation; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the cross-border collaboration between Unpad and NUS under this Double Degree program.
The webinar is expected to strengthen participants’ understanding of and interest in international postgraduate study opportunities, while also reinforcing the collaboration between FPIK Unpad and NUS in cultivating outstanding human resources in the fields of sustainability and the environment.
