A number of research and development activities in the field of marine affairs and fisheries have been carried out with funding support from various important agencies, with the aim of improving the management of Indonesia’s marine resources. The following is a summary of the main projects and their funding amounts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is promoting a strategic research program entitled \u201cDevelop the Strategic Action Program for Indonesia Sea Large Marine Ecosystem (ISLME Termin III)\u201d for the period from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024, with funding disbursed in the amount of IDR 438,008,536 for the implementation period from March 21 to March 31, 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • SDG 14 (Life Below Water): focuses on large-scale marine ecosystem conservation and management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • SDG 13 (Climate Action): supports climate change adaptation and mitigation in marine areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): highlights international collaboration through<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      1. The Kurita Water and Environment Foundation is conducting research on \u201cDevelopment of a Bloom Index Algorithm for Eutrophication Assessment in the Northern Coast of the Java Sea\u201d starting in 2023, with funds disbursed in the amount of Rp42,644,000 for the period from March 25 to 31, 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        • SDG 14 (Life Below Water): ensures better monitoring and protection of marine waters from eutrophication threats.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure): develops innovative technology through algorithm-based research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          1. The Serang Regency Fisheries Service conducted a feasibility study for the Lontar seaweed aquaculture village, with funding of IDR 88,285,388 used from early 2024 to late 2024. This activity aims to empower the community and increase seaweed cultivation production.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            • SDG 2 (Zero Hunger): supports food security through sustainable seaweed production.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): empowers coastal communities by improving aquaculture productivity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • SDG 14 (Life Below Water): promotes sustainable practices in seaweed aquaculture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              1. World Resources Institute Indonesia (WRI Indonesia) is leading a collaborative research activity entitled \u201cUtilization of Climate-Smart Shrimp Farming as a Nature-Based Climate Solution for Small-Scale Farmers in Coastal Indonesia\u201d from January 2024 to June<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                • SDG 13 (Climate Action): provides a nature-based climate solution through climate-smart shrimp farming.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • SDG 14 (Life Below Water): protects coastal and marine ecosystems through sustainable aquaculture practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): enhances livelihoods of small-scale coastal farmers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): demonstrates international collaboration for climate solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                  1. In 2027, funds amounting to IDR 430,381,688 have been allocated for the first term until May 31, 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                    • SDG 14 (Life Below Water): contributes to sustainable marine management through strategic planning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                    • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): emphasizes international cooperation in policy and documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                      1. FAO also manages the review and finalization of the ISLME TDA and SAP documents with a total disbursement of funds in two installments, namely IDR 30,297,585 until July 2024 and IDR 70,694,365 until September 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                        • SDG 2 (Zero Hunger): contributes to food security with high-value seafood products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        • SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): generates economic opportunities and local employment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        • SDG 14 (Life Below Water): supports sustainable and environmentally friendly lobster aquaculture<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        • SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure): advances innovation in aquaculture research and practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                          1. PT Gani Arta Dwitunggal is collaborating with the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Padjadjaran University, in lobster farming research, with funding of IDR 200,000,000 for the implementation of the first phase until May 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                              The total value of funds disbursed for all research and cooperation projects reached IDR 1,300,311,562. The implementation of these activities is expected to effectively support the sustainable development of Indonesia’s marine economy and conservation of marine resources until 2024 and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                              The funds were used to support various research and development activities at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) of Padjadjaran University (UNPAD), in order to strengthen innovation and sustainable management of marine and fishery resources. Through this funding, FPIK UNPAD can improve the quality of research, training, and collaboration with various parties for the advancement of science and the welfare of the community in the marine and fisheries sector.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
