<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lecturers from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences carried out a Community Service Program (KKN) in Bojongsoang by holding a seminar themed \u201cSustainable Aquaculture in Supporting Local Food Security\u201d on Saturday, July 20, 2024. The initiative, led by KKN field supervisor Fittrie Meyllianawaty Pratiwy,Ph.D., was designed to empower the local community through programs that enhance both welfare and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar introduced the importance of food security through efficient and affordable fish farming practices tailored for the Bojongsoang Village community. The event opened with welcoming remarks from the head of the community service program, the field supervisor, and the village head, followed by presentations from lecturers of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, UNPAD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session drew active participation from fish farmers and local residents, creating a lively exchange of ideas. Beyond sharing knowledge, the seminar succeeded in strengthening the skills and confidence of local fish farmers, while also promoting more inclusive economic growth through sustainable aquaculture. To complement the event, the KKN team also carried out a preliminary survey on education and health conditions in Bojongsoang, providing valuable insights for future community-based initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program strongly reflects the values of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By promoting sustainable aquaculture, it contributes to SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by improving local food security and ensuring families have access to nutritious, affordable protein sources. Sharing fisheries knowledge with the community supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by expanding access to learning and encouraging environmentally friendly practices. At the same time, providing equal opportunities for knowledge and economic improvement addresses SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality), as it empowers small-scale fish farmers and helps bridge social and economic gaps. In the long run, these collective efforts not only uplift the well-being of Bojongsoang residents but also build a stronger foundation for sustainable village development that aligns with global goals.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
